buying signal

a company expands

A company opening new offices, branches, plants or cities has to staff, equip and run them, usually against a deadline. Expansion shows up in press releases, business news, office leasing reports and job posts in the new location.

why it's a buying signal

Expansion is spending with a date on it. A branch that opens in March needs people, systems and suppliers before then.

It also stretches what already works. Processes built for one city rarely survive five.

where to find it in India

how long it stays useful

From the announcement until a few months after opening, while the new location is being set up.

This is our working rule from running outbound, not a measured benchmark.

who should care

  • facilities, IT and security
  • HR and payroll for the new team
  • software that has to work across locations
  • local suppliers and partners

false alarms to watch for

  • Announcements of intent with no date, which can take years.
  • Relocations, which move costs rather than adding them.

what to say

example

Sample Clinics announces three new centres in Pune.

Hi Kabir, I saw Sample Clinics is opening three centres in Pune. Each new centre usually means new staff to schedule and train at once. How are you planning to handle front-desk operations across locations?

Every company and person in this example is made up. For the full method, see our guide to buying signals.
