Terms of Service

Researchify is provided by Kravos Tech Pvt. Ltd. (“we”, “us”), a company registered in India. “The service” means the Researchify web application and everything it does.

You sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that Google account secure, and for everything done through your Researchify account.

You must be at least 16 years old, and you must be entitled to use the institutional email address you sign in with, if you use one.

Accounts are personal. Do not share your credentials or let somebody else act as you.

Do not:

• Upload or share content you have no right to share, including work belonging to your institution or to a third party.
• Attempt to access another lab's data, another user's account, or any part of the system you have not been granted access to.
• Probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission. If you find a problem, tell us.
• Use the service to harass anyone, or to store unlawful content.
• Automate access in a way that degrades the service for others, or resell access without our agreement.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.

You keep ownership of everything you put into Researchify: your research topics, task descriptions, submissions, meeting agendas and transcripts. We claim no ownership over it.

You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, display it to the people in your lab who are meant to see it, back it up, and, where you use the summarisation features, pass transcript text to our AI provider to produce a summary.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Supervision meetings often involve unpublished research and other people's words. Make sure the participants know a recording or transcript is being processed.

Researchify uses large language models to summarise meetings, extract action items and answer questions in the Lumi assistant. These features are useful but not reliable in the way a person is.

• Summaries and action items can be wrong, incomplete, or attributed to the wrong person. Check them before relying on them.
• Automatically generated tasks are a starting point, not a record of what was agreed.
• Do not use the assistant's output as the sole basis for an academic decision that affects somebody.

The service depends on Google, Supabase, Vercel, Resend and an AI provider, and optionally on Fathom. Your use of Google Calendar is also subject to Google's own terms. We are not responsible for outages or changes in those services, though we will do what we reasonably can to work around them.

We aim to keep Researchify running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may take the service down for maintenance. For a change that removes something you rely on, we will give notice where we can.

Researchify is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid plans, we will give existing users notice before any charge applies, and you will never be billed without agreeing to it first.

You can stop at any time and delete your account from Settings. Deletion is immediate and cannot be reversed, so export anything you want to keep first.

We may terminate an account that breaches these terms, or discontinue the service entirely with reasonable notice.

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Researchify is not a system of record for your institution. Keep your own copies of anything that matters for assessment, funding or compliance.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
