buying signal

management says what they'll invest in

On earnings calls and in investor presentations, listed companies tell investors what they plan to invest in, like digital, new markets or cost cutting. Those plans are public, dated and in management's own words. Indian listed companies file results and investor presentations with the stock exchanges, and many post earnings call transcripts on their websites.

why it's a buying signal

It's the company telling you its priorities in public. Quoting it shows you did your homework.

Investors hold management to these plans, so they tend to turn into budgets.

what to say

example

Sample Insurer's management says on its earnings call that it will move claims processing onto digital channels this year.

Hi Arvind, on the last earnings call your team talked about moving claims onto digital channels this year. Teams making that move usually start with the documents that slow claims down most. Has that work started?
